JetBet has been available for a few weeks now, so I thought I’d say a bit about it.
JetBet is a free interface to the Betfair API, and allows you to do more things than you can on the Betfair website, but without going overboard and becoming an unwieldy monster – other software allows you to do more things, but JetBet is very much focussed on usability and 95% of people won’t miss the 5% of functions it doesn’t have.
So what has it got? Well, the fundamental priniciple behind JetBet is that you det up the parameters for you bet before you place it – that way, when you actually click the bet it gets placed there an then, without any further process to slow you down. And these parameters are pretty flexible:
- Set up your stake – values for back and lays. You can also do these on the basis of target profit (so it makes you a certain amount backing dependent on odds) or fixed liability (limiting your exposure whilst laying)
- Price ordering – you can either take what’s in the market at that moment, or ask for a price a certain number of tics away from the current price, or ask for a fixed price. There is also the SureBet function, which means you are guaranteed to get matched in a fast moving market.
- Bet category – choose whether to order in the exchange or at BSP (Betfair Starting Price). In the exchange category there are also further options with regard to bet persistence – ie what happens to your bet when an event starts. You can choose to cancel, take the BSP or keep in-play.
- Advanced options (so to speak) – turn on one-click betting, swap the odds display, show Betfair crossmatches, and scale the window
Add on to that the real-time graphing, matched and unmatched bets window, flagging of unmatched bets in the price display, weight of money and many more features it really is the jack of all trades.
And all that in a compact package that means there are no need for menus, separate windows etc etc. It really is a joy to use and once you’ve got the hang of it it’s very difficult to go back to anything else. We’ve had the most technophobic of users try it and love it so even if you’ve never used any kind of software or “bot” before, we’re pretty sure that this will float your boat. Check out this screenshot on the left to see how easy the layout is.
JetBet is free, forever if you want. The only restriction we place on it is the number of bets placed in a month – if you want to exceed that you will need to upgrade to the premium version, which alse means it removes the banner adverts across the bottom of the software.
And for it’s last trick…. JetBet is fully Mac compatible. I know that there has been a lack of Mac betting software especially for Betfair in the past, and we’re looking to change that. We predominantly use Adobe Air as the software platform, which means our stuff will work on Windows, Mac and Linux plus a few more funky options too…..
Give it a try! It’s free, no strings and will potentially give you an edge when betting on Betfair if you don’t currently use any software.
